Next week, Gallows and Anderson will be close to winning and The New Day will get disqualified or counted out. The way I see things going down is for that trend to continue. Here’s hoping they don’t win the belts and preemptively kill off the record, but with The New Day drawing attention to it and cheating to retain this week, I think the story going forward will be that they are desperate to hold onto the belts no matter what. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson haven’t had the best few months, but they still have a lot of potential to be at the top of the division if WWE would simply book them as the ass kickers they were when they originally came onto the scene. Just as Charlotte will defend her title next week, so, too, will The New Day. The New Day are so close to beating Demolition’s record and by Roadblock, they’ll have surpassed it unless they lose the belts on Monday Night Raw. There may be a secondary women’s match with Nia Jax facing Sasha Banks or possibly even the redebut of Emmalina, but as far as the title goes, Charlotte will head into it as champion to defend against Bayley. Bayley appears to be the priority going forward, so next week’s title defense is probably just a means to get Sasha Banks her obligatory rematch, push her out of the way and move on to Bayley, who will get the opportunity at Roadblock.

Sasha was almost inconsequential at Survivor Series and their feud has gone on long enough. Then again, both times Sasha Banks won the championship, she did it by defeating Charlotte on Raw, so history could be on her side. Rumors were spreading over the past few weeks that the plan was to have Reigns go up against Owens in a Champion Versus Champion scenario, either with or without the United States title on the line, but probably just for Owens’ belt.Ĭould there be a swap where Rollins faces Jericho and Owens faces Reigns, or will Rollins get the Universal title shot while Jericho will fight Reigns for the United States Championship? Perhaps there will even be a Fatal 4-Way with all four men involved, fighting in contention for the Universal title? The WWE could always give Charlotte a fourth title-reign and ends Banks’ run in less than a month again. Their rivalry dates back to the beginning of the Divas Revolution in WWE. The belt has traded hands multiple times between the two superstars. There’s also the rivalry between Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship. The picture for WrestleMania 33 could be a lot different than what many though fans thought a few weeks ago. There’s going to be a lot of attention regarding who leaves with the title. The main event features Roman Reigns challenging Kevin Owens for the WWE Universal Championship. While it might not be a traditional pay-per-view event, the WWE Network exclusive could still be a very interesting night for a number of reasons.
